... who thinks like this, has obviously never been here to be a part of it. In Schlitz everything is a little different and age diversity holds no significance here. While the one group is engulfed in colorful dancing and international music, the others are partying to Rock and House –music at different locations throughout town. In the end they all meet out in the streets with glazed eyes, to watch, to stare and to share. It’s a collective of extraordinary people, mixing together their special tastes to create a wonderfully alternative festival.

Every two years on the second weekend in July, governs a state of emergency! The small east Hessen region dives headfirst in a colorful carrying on of international flair. Folklore and modern sounds, national costumes and jeans, nowhere else can such extremes harmoniously collide.

Music, dancing, partying, international folklore, parade, fireworks and to bring it all together a giant polonaise leads us through the old town streets. So come and celebrate with us the National Costume Festival in Schlitz.
